Set of ear cuffs "Garden of Emir of Bukhara". Brass, aquamarine, turquoise. $60.
The weight of ear wrap is 20 gr. Not that it is tooo heavy, but if you're planning wild dances, better put on some smaller jewelry, this one is for solemn calm behavior.
I was inspired to make this ear cuff by the dinner at the summer residence of Emir (ruler) of Bukhara. "Sacred Bukhara", "Pearl of the East" - are just a couple of names of this fairy tale-like city of Uzbekistan, which history dates back more than 2500 years, the city of narrow curved streets and grand ancient mausoleums and mosques with lace-like walls made of bricks, the city of the dazzling, white-hot sky, with verticals of minarets, the city of the sun sparkling on the blue majolica of the domes, the city of grape vines and thousands of roses blooming everywhere.
I wanted to bring to this set the impressions of shadowy garden in the country palace of the ruler of Bukhara: entwined tree branches, spots of sunlight and blue sky in the tree crowns, smell of roses filling the air, old walls surrounding the garden, on top of which peacocks were sitting, showing their beautiful tails or walking slowly along the alleys.
